L: In recent years, luxury exhibitions have grown rapidly nationwide. However, what sets our Wenzhou event apart is its consistent success over four consecutive years. That kind of stability is rare in the industry. Wenzhou itself is a key market for us. It’s known for having one of the most active private capital markets in China. In the past two years, luxury brands, five-star hotels, and private clubs have all made their way into the city. Most of our VIP guests come from Zhejiang and Wenzhou, making it a significant gathering for local business elites. Q: How has the Wenzhou Luxury Goods Exhibition managed to sustain itself despite economic challenges? L: The nature of luxury goods targets high-end consumers, which defines our audience. Unlike other exhibitions, we focus on long-term growth and quality. Our goal is to elevate the lifestyle of China’s wealthy by introducing them to internationally recognized luxury brands with deep cultural heritage. Q: Why did you choose Wenzhou for the luxury show, and do you plan to expand to other cities? L: According to data, Wenzhou has one of the highest concentrations of private capital in China. Over 30% of luxury exhibition attendees nationally come from Wenzhou. Plus, Wenzhou has one of the highest numbers of BMW and Mercedes-Benz cars in the country. With such strong private capital and a culture of luxury consumption, it’s the perfect place for this event. We are currently in talks with the Hunan Chamber of Commerce, and if everything goes smoothly, the next edition will be held in Changsha. Q: How do you select the brands that participate? L: We only invite luxury brands that align with our vision of serving the tastes of Chinese high-net-worth individuals. Our goal is to create a pure luxury environment, ensuring the exhibition maintains its reputation through strict brand selection. Q: Why did you require formal attire this year? L: This is a new feature aimed at enhancing the overall atmosphere of the event. Guests are required to dress formally, as it’s a high-end, elegant occasion. We hope this encourages a shift in local fashion and etiquette standards. Q: What should visitors pay attention to this year? L: I encourage visitors to explore the history behind each brand. Luxury isn’t just about price—it’s about culture, heritage, and experience. We want people to appreciate the stories behind these top-tier brands. Q: What are your expectations for this year’s event? L: In the past few days, we’ve already seen sales reaching hundreds of millions of yuan, including items like Hetian jade, Aurora diamond pens, Italian yachts, and Dokdo villas. With over 60 luxury brands participating, we expect around 30,000 visitors, and the quality of attendees will be even higher than before. Q: How do you think the event impacts the lifestyle of Wenzhou residents? L: This is exactly our mission—to help the wealthy enjoy a more refined life. Many Wenzhou residents have become affluent quickly, but they haven’t fully embraced the lifestyle of true wealth. Our event aims to guide them toward a more meaningful and cultured way of living. Q: How do you define luxury? L: Luxury is not just about expensive items. It’s about scarcity, exclusivity, and personal value. For some, it may be a meal, peace, or health. But ultimately, time is the most precious luxury of all.
