Types of cutting fluids Cutting oils (also known as pure oils) are based on mineral oils and are used in demanding machining applications. They are mainly divided into cutting metal cutting tools that force the workpiece to break and deform the workpiece material. When selecting the cutting fluid, the user needs to comprehensively consider the water-soluble cutting fluids of various factors, and is divided into three types: emulsified type, micro-emulsified type (also called semi-synthetic type) and fully synthetic type, which are all supplied in a concentrated form. Emulsified oil content is high (70-85%), lubricity and machinability are very good; micro-emulsified type (5-50% oil) is the most widely applicable, its life, anti-corrosion and extreme pressure performance exceeds the emulsified type; Fully synthetic (oil-free) has good cooling properties and lower lubricity than the other two. Adding additives can improve heavy-duty cutting performance and corrosion resistance.
The selection of cutting fluid should be considered from the processing materials, processing process, spiral chip conveyor and tool. Firstly, the material of the workpiece is judged. Is the constant current pump very hard, plasticity, and special chemical reaction? For example, sensitive copper alloy When the cutting fluid contains an active sulfur extreme pressure agent, it will turn black.
Pure oil is often recommended for processing brass and aluminum alloys; cutting oils containing sulfurized extreme pressure agents are used to process carbon steel, alloy steel, heat resistant steel and stainless steel. Emulsified type with high oil content, also recommended for cutting in aluminum alloy; full synthetic type is chemical solution, all additives are soluble in water, suitable for processing carbon steel, alloy steel; micro-emulsified type is between the two Processing aluminum alloy and carbon steel in a spiral chip conveyor. It is used by factories with more types of materials and is easier to manage.
Secondly, the processing process is analyzed. Grinding requires higher heat removal rate and better cooling performance. The full synthetic type is very suitable. The broaching requires high lubricity, and the cutting oil containing additives is most suitable. The following is a list of processes that transition from high cooling to high lubricity:
Grinding - Sawing - Turning - Drilling - Milling - Boring - Thread cutting - deep hole drilling - hobbing - tapping - broaching.
The maintenance of the cutting fluid is mainly for the water-soluble cutting fluid. First, the correct concentration should be maintained. If the concentration is too high, the operator's skin will be allergic; if the concentration is too low, the bacteria will be attacked, the smoothness of the workpiece will be deteriorated, and the tool life will be reduced. Secondly, the hardness and PH value of the constant flow pump water should be controlled according to the requirements of the cutting fluid supplier.
